4am Labs

In addition to providing quality Consultancy and Service Solutions, we at 4am work on a range of internal experimental projects. A lot of these projects don't get anywhere but once in while some of them go on to evolve into more than just experiments.

Vamooz, The Krishna Story, and our Open Source contributions started off being internal 'experiments' but have since moved on to become full fledged projects.

Vamooz is an easy to use Multi-Source News tracking Interface that allows users to browse content from around the world, updated nearly as soon as they appear on the various Sources. In addition to providing a single place from which to explore various kinds of news, Vamooz uses revolutionary Display and Natural Language Processing techniques to allow users to explore individual news stories both in terms of its evolution over time and breadth in terms of different perspectives.

The Krishna Story, unlike other conventional web projects is a project in which we have partnered with various third parties including a major publishing house to transform the ancient Indian story of Lord Krishna into a vividly colorful and striking graphic novel.

Our Open Source initiative started off when, as part of our continued effort in ensuring high standards of coding, we decided to adopt Open Source standards and methods. These, in general, tend to be stringent because of the inherent need in Open Source development to allow people from different parts of the world to work on the same code. After a point we realized that we use a lot of Open Source Products starting with Unix based Operating Systems to Open Office and, in an attempt to give back a little, we at 4am release, as Open Source, all code that is non-business critical!
